One Part of History


Dipaculao, Aurora
Dipaculao is in the center of Aurora province, between Dinalungan and Baler. It has many natural resources ( rich forest, Fresh and sea water resources, and have a fertile land). The fertile plains are suitable for planting rice, vegetables, coconuts and other fruit bearing trees. Dipaculao has 25 barangay today and its total population is 24,882 (2007).
Dipaculao is unique because of the natural beauty of coastal plane, falls, and mountains. The municipality  encourages  and develop tourism industry.
Dipaculao has rich in culture, they celebrate the town fiesta, Coco festival is a part of celebration, competition in street dance (they show case the different products came’s from the coconut tree, from planting to harvesting of coconut fruits, and other products). 

Barangay Puangi Dipaculao, Aurora
By the virtue of RA no. 1763, barrio of Puangi in the Municipality of Dipaculao is created. It was approved June 21, 1957.
1 km apart from the municipality to barrio. The original settlers and owned the land are the native ilongots, But the time was came, many migrants from different town and provinces. Settled the area that  makes them to transfer into the mountains.
Many changes brought by the migrants in the area. They developed by cleaning the area. and subdivided the land, and they planted. At the present time, a lot of establishment like the elementary school and high school, barrio plaza and health center, and others. They have good irrigation system which suffices the needs of farmers. 

Puangi National High School
A proposed to have an extension of ANHS(AnnexII) in the barangay Puangi for the H.S. students from the Barangay Puangi, toytoyan, Dimabuno, Mijares, Gupa and other near Barangay is approved.
It is started to established year 1990’s. The classroom erected was made only a cogon, woods, and other native materials. Difficulties they experience because of the typhoons which devastate the classrooms.  At year 2000 Puangi is given concrete Classrooms.
At November , 2009 an act separating the aurora National High School- Annex III in Barangay Puangi Dipaculao , Aurora from ANHS converting to an independent national high school to be known as Puangi National High School was approved by  President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
